KM Cache Issue

Dear Experts,

 

We had a requirement to post an update in EP via modifying a file in KM content. We could able to achieve that. We had created a KM content iView and assigned that iView to new Portal Role. Subsequently we assigned new Portal Role to few users.

 

Now responsible users are updating the file but the problem is: the changes doesn't reflect instantly to the portal. It takes lot of time to reflect.

 

We tried clearing Navigation cache and browser cache but still not working properly. Could you please throw some idea how it will be reflected instantly.

 

Any suggestion is appreciated.

AFP problem in Portal 7.4 SP8

Hi

 

We are using Portal 7.4 SP8.

 

I have found that below functionalists not working using Ajax Frame WorkPage

 

1) Clicking any node in MSS ADDON 1.0 role pointing to HOME PAGE

2) Clicking node not displaying services underneath it.

3) Not able to launch Appraisal document

4) Most of reports infinite looping

 

 

Surprisingly all the issues were sorted out when using /portal/classic with out any further changes.

 

May i know what was wrong with AFP and how all functionalists working as expected when using standard framework page ?

Export & Import UME to new Portal 7.01

I need to copy all of the Users/Groups/Roles from our physical portal to our virtualized portal. I've exported three files out of the old portal for Users, Groups and Roles.

 

The new portal is a fresh 7.01 installation, patched to SP16.  I've setup the LDAP configuration to validate credentials against Active Directory.

 

Now, when I import Users, I get failures because Groups do not exist.  Or when I import Roles, I get failures that Users do not exist.  What's the catch?  Is there a sequence for doing a mass replication of the UME?

 

I'm exporting out of 7.01 SP12 and importing to 7.01 SP16.  I wouldn't think that would matter.

 

I've read the Help Files:

 

  • Importing User Management Data
  • Import Format for UME Principals
  • User Data Format

 

Does anyone have a blog or best practice I could follow?

Logon Tickets for Multiple Domains - sender = receiver server

Hello,

in our company is a move towards new internal domains in progress.

Old domain: company.de

New domain: companyinternal.com

All new systems shall be in the new domain. Now there is also a move towards NetWeaver 7.3 in our portal landscape. Nevertheless most of the backend systems are still in the old domain. To maintain SSO u201CLogon Tickets for Multiple Domainsu201D should be a solution.

To reduce maintanace by establishing a new system (Webserver, WebDispatcher,u2026) and taking into account http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EP/Multi%20domain%20SSO I thought I can establish the portal in both domains (with 2 addresses - portal.company.de and portal.companyinternal.com) and setting the UME property ume.login.mdc.hosts = portal.company.de, portal.companyinternal.com to enable SSO (I also tried it using http:// portal.companyinternal.com:50000, http:// portal.company.de:50000)

But if I try to open portal.companyinternal.com in the same window than portal.company.de the login screen still appears.

Am I thinking in the wrong direction?

OBN Error- There is no iView available for system "SAP_ECC_DefenseAndPublicSecurity": object "mat_doc_disp".

Hi Guys,

              I come across OBN error when I launch URL link for SAP Transactional iView.

 

"There is no iView available for system "SAP_ECC_DefenseAndPublicSecurity": object "mat_doc_disp". For more information, contact your administrator."

 

Please find the attached Business Object "mat_doc_disp" properties.

 

Looks like its configured under system name "SAP_ERP_Manufacturing".

 

I add both these system in Aliases, still this not solving the issue.

 

I am also referring to SAP Note 1494536. Still couldn't pin it down the issue.

Server side Search API

Hi,

 

I need to create a portal service for portal navigation search, and in that I am using navigation nodes for creating a siteMap .I want to use server side search API  or any other similar API for searching the specific nodes by giving the input.

Can anybody please help me in that or any pointers??

Target URL of resource in KM API

I am working on KM API in EP 7.3, and i want to get the target URL of the resource fetched. I tried to use the resource.getTargetURL(), but it returns null.

Please suggest the solution.

Hi All,

 

I am unable to download spreadsheet from portal.Although other people are able to do so. I am getting below error.

Dear Experts,

 

I am working on HR Renewal 2.0 FP2 and my system updated status : ECC 6.0 EHP7, EA_HR 608 & SAP_HR 608 SP Level 08.

 

I am able to open the portal and when I will click on the ESS tab (HR Renewal Role) next page is opening, but when i am clicking on Service showing following error.

 

HR Renewal 2.0 FP2 : Error-Page not found. Refresh the page or try again later. If the problem persists, contact your Portal administrator for assistance.

WPC search and TREX on EP 7.31

Dear all,

 

I have tryed following:

 

Configuring the Search for Web Pages - Web Page Composer - SAP Library

 

to configure TREX search for WPC content on EP 7.31 SP6. I was able to follow almost all mentioned steps as given:

 

1.)Setting TREX URL in NWA: TREX is configured already and is running. Created HTTP System like suggested with public portal url (System AdministrationNext navigation stepSystem ConfigurationNext navigation stepKnowledge ManagementNext navigation stepContent ManagementEnd of the navigation pathGlobal ServicesNext navigation stepSystem Landscape DefinitionsNext navigation stepSystemsNext navigation stepHTTP System)

 

2.)Defining host and alternate host for URL generator service: already configured, public resp internal portal url

 

3.)Configuring Default Proxy System ( System AdministrationNext navigation stepSystem ConfigurationNext navigation stepKnowledge ManagementNext navigation stepContent ManagementStart of the navigation pathGlobal ServicesNext navigation stepSystem Landscape DefinitionsNext navigation stepSystemsNext navigation stepDefault Proxy System ): I didnt entered anything on proxy URL, since I dont use one. But I entered direct hosts like localhost, https://weburl.com, http://internal.com like suggested


4.)Configured a web site with given values ( System AdministrationNext navigation stepSystem ConfigurationNext navigation stepKnowledge ManagementNext navigation stepContent Management Start of the navigation pathRepository ManagersNext navigation stepWeb SitesNext navigation stepWeb Site ). Im sadly not familiar with the syntax of Login User Agent setting, looks a bit strange, just copy-pasted it.


5.)Created a web repository with given values ( System AdministrationNext navigation stepSystem ConfigurationNext navigation stepKnowledge ManagementNext navigation stepContent ManagementStart of the navigation pathRepository ManagersNext navigation stepWeb Repository). Connected the mentioned filter, com.sap.nw.kmc.indexing.filter.IndexPropertiesFilter and created an index like descripted with property queryExtender.


6.)Configured Service Profile, Delta Indexeing, Search UI as suggested, restarted all services.


7.)Restarted the portal - found some hot deployment exceptions in the log.


8.)Created a WPC area, page, article. Published all, connected to a custom role and gave this one to my user. Works well


9.)Reindexed appropriate TREX index without any result: the number of returned documents is 0. Created a text file in /StageArea, reindexed again, still nothing. Also no errors on TREX Monitor and nothing in the NWA log, it seems the the crawler is failing on finding documents. If Im looking closer to the queue of the WPC index I cant see any documents at all, means they are not failing on preprocessing, so all counters are zero.


Also suspicious, KM navigating to portal_indexing_wr -> portal_indexing_ws leads to a "Target not available" error. No develope trace error regarding this visible. Not sure what can be expected there, the SAP Help is not mentioning any troubleshooting.


I found the SAP note 1315079 regarding a comparable issue, but it seems this one doesnt match 7.31, since I cant find an output.xml file inside of the WPC KM area using portal drive.


As far I got the idea in generally, while on 7.x it was a regular TREX index with a WPC crawler, on 7.31 the access regarding WPC content should be available through a custom web repository. However, Im running out of ideas what could go wrong. I would be glad if anybody would give me some input on this. Thanks,

Connection to partner broken-SAP Transaction Iview

Hello All,

 

I am facing a problem while accessing workbooks through SAP Transaction iview from Enterprise portal. Everything works fine in D and Q. After transporting to P portal, all workbooks shows attached error message. I have given port as 32xx, but in error message I can see that port has been taken as 33xx. Why the auto assignment of wrong port happens? Is it the reason for error?

 

 

I have chosen SAP GUI for windows for creating iview. Any difference if I take SAP GUI for HTML?

 

Let me know your views. I am struggling since the issue happened in P portal. Quick help would be appreciated.

Two Logon page Configuration for same portal.

Dear Experts,

 

I don't know how to control the two different logon par files and how to configure the custom  authschemes.xml. Because i need two different logon page are having different logic.Internal using one type of logon page and external another type.Both logon page having two different url's.I should not maintain the both are same par file level.So i need to know it is possible or not.I was not have any idea about this type of process.

any one can tell me this below process.

Please help me.


Portal version is 7.0 ,java_1.4 and back end oracle system.

why i cant see the whole discussion tree in the KM Discussion group contibutors iview?

Hello,

 

I have created a "KM Discussion group contibutors iview". I can add disccussions, reply discussions and reply my replies. I can also add documents in my replies.

 

But I cannot see the whole discussion tree. Only the last saved reply is seen. and if i delete the last reply, the previous reply is seen.

 

I want to see the whole tree. How can i see it?

Default system not displaying And where we find JAVA server?

Hello SAP Gurus,

 

 

I'm using NWDS 7.3 , my problem is i add one default system in NWDS after adding system also system is not displaying in the table.Foe creating default system in NWDS i follow this path : Windows->Preferences-->SAP as JAVA after that  i click add button and provided appropriate host name and instance no.I set add to domain is default. But the system in visible i  SAP System try.

 

 

  For reference please observe the bellow attached screen shoot's.

And one more question is that where can we find java server in NWDS 7.3 . With out this how we know that java server is existing and it is working.

At this moment we are faced witha difference in thedisplay/rendering betweentwo7.4portalsystems (see red area’s in screenshots).Bothsystemsaregreen fieldinstallations.

Bothportalsystems usethestandardSAP GoldReflectiontheme.

The expectation was thattheDEVportalwould have the sameview as theLABportal.Unfortunately, it appears thattheDEVportalfalls back to theolderstandard SAPTradeshow themewhen displaying (for example) the PortalContentStudio ortheUWL. Different stylesheets (CSS) are loaded. There is no unifiedrendering and in our opinion this is not correct.

SCNprovidesmuch information about thevariousrenderingproblems thatexists in the use of Internet Explorer in combination withtheSAP Portal. However,it isunclear to uswhere tostart with theanalysisof this problem.

Answers /suggestionsto the following questionswillbe highly appreciated:

  1. Is it correctthatthe portal by default should make useofURwhen the SAP GoldReflectiontheme is used?
  2. Is the differenceofrenderingcaused by the differencein the versions ofthe EPBASIS /EPRUNTIME? (DEV portal has higher SP/patch level than LAB);
  3. How to investigate this issue further and finally solve it?

Issues with Fiori Logoff page

Hi,

 

I am struggling with the logout page of SAP Fiori.

 

 

  1. I login to the Fiori launchpage url  with my credentials.
  2. When i try to hit "logout", i get the attached error message(logout.png) on the screen.I want that when a user hits logout screen, it should redirect him to the login screen. Can anyone please let me know where can we do this?
